How many boxing styles are there?
There are many, and I probably don’t know all of them yet. One style is the southpaw, which is a more defensive approach. People who use this style typically prefer to defend rather than attack aggressively. It’s not focused on knockouts but rather winning by points.

The Hitman Style
Another style is the Hitman, which is usually adopted by taller fighters or those with a longer reach. In this style, you keep one arm extended, leaving one side of your face somewhat unguarded. The idea is to move your arm side to side, using a flicker jab. The jab is hard to notice, so when it lands, it’s often too fast for the opponent to react. It’s not a straight jab but more of a flicker.

Philly Shell
I believe Floyd Mayweather fights using a style called the Philly Shell. This is a highly defensive stance, even more so than southpaw. It allows fighters to cover most of their body while dodging and countering with quick jabs. Fighters using the Philly Shell rely on defense and precision.

Southpaw Innovator
A notable southpaw user was Vincent Saldivar, who liked to toy with his opponents, spinning around in the southpaw stance and landing effective punches.

Peekaboo Style
Another famous style is the Peekaboo, popularized by Mike Tyson. This is an aggressive style where the fighter throws multiple uppercuts and hooks to overwhelm the opponent. It’s ideal for fighters with a lot of power but less reach. People with strong bodies but limited range use this style to dominate opponents at close quarters.

Fighter’s Adaptation
Many fighters stick with one style throughout their careers. However, some learn multiple styles to adapt to their opponents and keep them guessing. This ability to switch between styles during a fight can confuse opponents and provide a tactical advantage.

Style Dynamics
Styles can counter each other. For example, the Hitman style is a good counter to the Peekaboo style because of its long-range jabs. By keeping the Peekaboo fighter at a distance, it prevents them from getting close enough to land powerful uppercuts.

My Style Choice
As for me, I’m still deciding on my style. So far, I’m leaning towards Peekaboo because I’m better with uppercuts than jabs.
